Senior Tour 2016
On Monday 13th of June we went to Dublin on our school tour. We left at 7:45am. First we visited Croke Park for a stadium tour and we got to see the dressing rooms, tunnel, the museum and much more. It was brilliant. Then we went to Glasnevin Cemetery. This was great because we heard lots about 1916 and also some very famous people like Daniel O’Connell (The Liberator) and Michael Collins. On the way home we stopped off in Portlaoise at Roll N Bowl for a game of bowling, playzone and some food. We also watched the Ireland V’s Sweden game here. We returned to the school at 7:30pm. A great day was had by all.
Junior and Senior Infants School Tour 2016
Junior and Senior Infants had a brilliant day on their school tour. We left the school at 9.00 am for Castlecomer Discovery Park. We met our leader Laura and she took us on a walk up the woods to the Elf Village which was spectacular, then the children had an hour to spend on the low rope obstacle course. Some children were a bit apprehensive at the start but by round 3 on the obstacle course they were like Olmpian athletes, it was great to see their confidence grow! After that, we had a much needed lunch break and then it was time to put on our wellies and head down to the river to learn about different species of fish in the river. Some children
even managed to catch some fish in their nets !! Then we had more lunch and went to the shop for a much needed ice-cream. Luckily the weather stayed fine so we got to spend some time in the playground. It was a memorable day.

First we went to the Playstation, where the children had the whole Playstation to themselves . After that we went to the Castle Park for a picnic, luckily the sun stayed shining ! Then we played in the playground which was great fun. Finally the children got a well deserved ice-cream from the ice-cream van.
