This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and supporting our learners at risk of educational disadvantage, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU.
As a small rural primary school with three mainstream classrooms at the time, this funding made a significant impact. It was used to purchase a set of six Bee-Bots, which provide our younger pupils with a foundation in coding and robotics skills. In addition, we purchased new HP Probook X360 laptops, ensuring that all students from 3rd to 6th class had access to their own individual device for learning.
These resources have helped us strengthen digital learning opportunities across the school and ensure that every child can benefit from the advantages of technology in education.
